What lubricants can I use with SkyOiler 360?
SkyOiler 360 is designed for use with low-viscosity, penetrating elevator wire rope lubricants that remain fluid and flow cleanly through the system.

Use light, penetrating oils specifically designed for traction elevator wire ropes, including:
- Nylube® / Lubri-Cable®
- Castrol Tribol WR 4600 - special instructions provided)
Equivalent products with similar properties may also be suitable.
⚠️ Warranty Note
SkyOiler 360 must be used with compatible lubricants.
Use of non-approved lubricants may result in system clogging or damage and will void the warranty.

Why Lubricant Choice Matters
SkyOiler 360 is a best-in-class lubrication system designed to keep elevator ropes in optimal condition by delivering precise, 360° coverage with controlled application.
Traditional lubrication methods—such as brushes, rollers, or carpet-style applicators—were not designed to properly penetrate the rope. These methods often:
- Over-apply lubricant to the surface
- Fail to reach the inner strands and core
- Leave excess coating that attracts dirt and contaminants
As a result, the center of the rope can dry out, leading to internal wear, corrosion, and reduced rope life.

What is SkyOiler 360?
SkyOiler 360 is the world's only complete elevator rope maintenance system — the only system that cleans and precision lubricates the rope, all in one.
The Mounted Unit installs permanently on each elevator. The Pump Unit travels with your mechanic and provides the power for both cleaning and 360° dialed-in lubrication. Engineered to dramatically reduce labour hours, improve mechanic safety, and extend rope life — done hands-free in as little as 15 minutes.
Does SkyOiler actually penetrate the core of the rope?
Yes. SkyOiler 360 is designed to help deliver lubricant deep into the rope structure, allowing it to penetrate beyond the outer strands and reach the rope core.
This technology is based on proven wire rope conditioning methods developed by Ron Chisholm and successfully applied for decades across the energy, marine, mining, forestry, and other demanding industrial sectors worldwide.
To further validate performance specifically for the elevator industry, SkyOiler 360 is currently pursuing independent third-party testing to formally document and verify lubricant penetration results.
How long does the process take?
A full cleaning and lubrication cycle can be completed in as little as 2 -15 minutes, depending on rope length and setup.

The Mounted Unit is the cleaner and oiler head. It installs permanently on each elevator — two bolts, done once. It stays there, ready for every service visit.
The Pump Unit is your mechanic's route tool. It travels with them in their van and provides all the power the system needs. One Pump Unit services every elevator on the route, because the Mounted Unit is already installed and waiting at each one.
On a service visit, your mechanic connects the Pump Unit to the already-installed Mounted Unit, runs the cleaning and lubrication cycle hands-free, disconnects, and moves to the next building. No repeated setup, no wasted time.
Will this extend rope life?
Yes. Research on wire rope performance has shown that properly lubricated ropes can last significantly longer than dry, unlubricated ropes—by as much as 80% in some applications.*
SkyOiler 360 is designed to help achieve that result by thoroughly cleaning and conditioning the rope, allowing lubricant to penetrate beyond the surface and into the rope structure where it is needed most.

What types of elevators and ropes is SkyOiler compatible with?
SkyOiler 360 is designed for use on traction elevators and is compatible with most standard wire rope configurations.
The system can accommodate:
- Rope diameters up to 19 mm (3/4")
- Rope sets up to 300 mm (12") wide

The Mounted Unit installs permanently on each elevator — two bolts, removable and relocatable if your contract or portfolio changes. This gives contractors and building owners full flexibility without sacrificing a standardized, repeatable process.
Can it be used on existing installations?
Yes. The Mounted Unit is designed to install on most traction elevators, whether existing or new. Installation takes two bolts and minutes — no modification to the elevator itself required.

What is the return policy?

If the product does not perform as described, you may request a return within 5 business days of receiving your order.
How do I initiate a return?

- Your product or order number
- A brief description of the issue
- photos or video to help us assess the concern
Our team will respond within 2 business days with next steps.
What conditions must be met for a return?
To be eligible for a return:
- The request must be made within the 5 business day window
- The product must be in good condition (reasonable wear from testing is acceptable)
- The issue must relate to the product not performing as described
What happens after my return is approved?
Once approved:
- We will provide return instructions
- The product must be shipped back as directed
- After inspection, we will process your refund or replacement
How long do refunds take?
Refunds are typically processed within 5–10 business days after the returned product has been received and inspected.
Who pays for return shipping?
- If the product is confirmed to not perform as described, SkyOiler 360 will cover return shipping
- For all other returns, shipping costs may be the responsibility of the customer
Are there any non-returnable situations?
Returns may not be accepted if:
- The request is made after the 5 business day period
- The product has been misused, modified, or damaged beyond normal testing
- Required information is not provided
What warranty comes with SkyOiler 360?
SkyOiler 360 is built to industrial standards and designed to perform reliably in demanding environments. We offer a 1-year limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
What does the warranty cover?
Our 1-year warranty covers:
- Manufacturing defects in materials
- Mechanical or component failures under normal operating conditions
- Issues that prevent the system from performing as intended
What is not covered under warranty?
The warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage caused by improper use, wrong lubricant use, installation, or handling
- Unauthorized modifications or repairs
- Use outside of recommended applications
- Damage caused by external factors (e.g. impact, environment, or incompatible products)

Where do you ship?
We currently ship worldwide. If you have a unique location or delivery requirement, please contact our team and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
How long does shipping take?
We run lean in our manufacturing plant to ensure efficacy. So if ordering directly from SkyOiler. Timing can be shorter with one of our distributors.

- International: Shipping times may vary depending on location and customs processing

What currency are your prices in?

Are taxes, duties, and shipping included?
